Hello Resident
I hope are well today.
Vehicle Seizures for Document Offences: On January 6, 2026, officers seized a vehicle after it was involved in a minor collision in front of them; checks revealed the driver had no insurance, no MOT, the car was declared SORN, and the driver only held a provisional license. Response to Community Complaints: Police responded to numerous public reports regarding a specific car being driven with no tax, no MOT, and no insurance. The vehicle was successfully seized and removed from the streets. Multi-Agency Road Safety Operations (MARSO): The local neighbourhood team partnered with Wolverhampton Council, the DVSA, and Licensing for operations specifically targeting unsafe and illegal vehicles in the Wednesfield and Heath Town sectors. High-Visibility Patrols: As of mid-January 2026, officers have been conducting "routine patrols in local hotspots," which resulted in the recovery of cloned and stolen vehicles, as well as the seizure of multiple cars for lack of insurance. Wider Crackdown: These local efforts are part of a broader regional push that has seen over 7,000 uninsured vehicles removed from West Midlands roads as of late 2025 and early 2026. Important Reminders for Residents: Report Illegal Vehicles: If you are aware of a vehicle being driven without insurance, tax, or a valid MOT, you can report it via the West Midlands Police website or by calling 101. Consequences: Drivers caught without insurance face a £300 fixed penalty and 6 points on their license, alongside the immediate seizure of the vehicle Thank you From your Wednesfield & Heath town Police Team | ||
